Bottle Kiln in Holly Dangle Earrings

It’s Christmas!!! Time to get those ears adorned with everything Christmassy, sparkly, cute and special.

Why not show your love for Stoke-on-Trent and for Christmas with these cute Bottle Kiln in Holly Dangle Earrings?

With a cute hand painted holly design, these wooden bottle kilns will be a perfect accessory for Christmas.

The pieces are hand painted on both sides and then coated in a protective layer of resin which provides them with even more of a gorgeous sheen.

Although made from amazing quality wood, these earrings are exceptionally lightweight and dainty giving you a bold statement earring that is nice and easy to wear.

A version of the bottle kiln earrings were also seen being worn by a Wedgwood Judge during the semi-final of Channel 4 Love Productions Great Pottery Throw Down!

Bottle Kilns have become one of my bestsellers and it is what I’m known for! You can find more designs and more jewellery and accessories with a Stoke-on-Trent theme, here.

About the Kilns

There was once approximately 2000 bottle kilns in Stoke-on-Trent. Now only 47 remain.

All of my wonderful Ancestors worked within the pottery industry and my grand-father was a Cod Placer. This meant he was in charge of filling the bottle kilns up with the pottery ready to be fired.

As they were paid for each piece they made successfully, my Grand-father had to make sure each one was placed correctly to ensure it fired correctly.

My Grand-father passed away when I was very young. I would have loved to have spoken to him about his time as a Cod Placer.

The Quirky Process

The Bottle Kiln in Holly have been laser cut by another small business using high quality, eco-friendly wood.

The Bottle Kiln in Holly Dangle Earrings have been hand painted, they are then finished with a glossy shine of resin on both sides of the earrings and attached to great quality findings.

The ear closure is an ear wire, making them super easy for everyone to wear.

Each item of jewellery at Wear It Quirky are made, packaged and shipped from Stoke-on-Trent; the heart of the Potteries! More specifically, the entire process takes place in my garage-come-craft-studio.

The jewellery is therefore designed and made entirely by hand by me, Victoria, making every single pair unique and truly special. I share lots of behind the scenes of the quirky process on Instagram and Facebook.

Please note because the jewellery is handmade, there may be slight differences from one to the other and sometimes, some slight imperfections.
